Trauma is a reality in many lives. It can be physical, emotional, psychological, or other and is TRAUMA 1unique to every person.

Nobody knows which event in our lives will overwhelm our nervous systems into trauma. Sometimes the person experiencing the trauma does not realize their body is holding trauma. They just experience the symptoms and do not understand what is wrong with them.

Trauma includes: stress, rape & sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, birth trauma, school bullying & violence, serious accident, illness or threatening medical procedure, separation/grief, and also being a witness to abuse and other.

When people feel traumatized, nothing feels safe and what we want to do is bring a small sense of safety into their lives. In the words of Peter Levine “trauma is ‘locked’ in the body. It is the body that must be accessed to discharge the locked in energy.” Only the wisdom of the core of the body can heal it and the core of the body responds best to touch (and smell). It can’t be ‘fixed’ or manipulated. What is required is a safe, loving, close, but not suffocating holding, containing and supporting the body, as is.

Releasing trauma with Craniosacral therapy.

Craniosacral therapy is an effective, drug-free approach for releasing trauma, because it takes a “whole person” view to healing. The interconnection of mind, body and spirit are acknowledged as well as how the body reflects experiences and retains the memory of trauma.

1 minute health tip Trauma suppresses expression of life and suffocates our attempts to move on in our lives”. Peter Levine

Our craniosacral therapy sessions will allow you to experience a “safe, loving, close, but not suffocating holding, containing and supporting the body, as is”, focusing on the root cause of problems. This can produce lasting trauma relief.
