If you suffer from any kind of pain, injury, illness, trauma or anxiety, CranioSacral Therapy could be the answer.

So just what is CranioSacral Therapy?

It is a gentle, natural, drug-free way of treating medical conditions caused by pain, injury, illness, trauma or anxiety. It’s aim is to release deeply held diseases, both physical and psychological, which we unconsciously soak up throughout life as a result of stress, pain, injury, illness, trauma or anxiety.

If these patterns of disease are not fully and completely freed they remain trapped inside our bodies, leading to ongoing pain, dysfunction or disease.

What in the world does all this mean?

Arthur John Rosen, Therapeutic Reflexologist and CranioSacral Therapist, explains: “Imagine that you’re walking down a path whilst enjoying a relaxing holiday in the Kruger Park, when you suddenly find yourself face to face with a ferocious lion. What happens to your body? You would probably experience some rather strikingly noticeable changes such as an increase in your heartbeat, a rise in your blood pressure, a dry mouth, etc, as well as a tightening in your body tissues.

People often get stuck in such an experience, which means the tightening, or restriction in their body tissues is not sufficiently released. As a result it may be carried throughout life as a chronic dysfunction reducing our energy, vitality and our healthy functioning.

CranioSacral Therapy is aimed at successfully and fully completing the process in order to enable people to regain optimum health”.

What can it treat?

Because Craniosacral Therapy adopts a “whole person approach” to health and healing, many things are possible and probable.

The following are just a few examples of various Children’s and Adult problems that people bring to the CranioSacral therapist, and which have been shown to respond to this gentle but effective approach to healing.

Arthur John, experienced CranioSacral Therapist, says that “because of the therapy’s wide scope, patients often notice an improvement in other symptoms not just the condition, syndrome or disease which they want to resolve – someone having this treatment for a back problem can find that, as well as their back pain easing, the migraine headaches they have had for years also ease.”

As an example of the powerful healing ability of CranioSacral Therapy, Arthur John relates this case history about a patient:

“Joe was a 23 year old boy who had been involved in a serious skate boarding accident. When he came to me he could not see, smell or taste properly and he suffered from lower back pain. After a few treatments, his vision had been corrected, his back pain had diminished and his senses of smell and taste had improved dramatically.”

The boy’s mother wrote as follows:

‘‘My son had a skateboard accident during his Christmas holidays in Natal. He was then rushed to Saint Augustine’s Hospital in ICU for a couple of weeks in a coma. When he came out of the coma I was told to send him for Reflexology and Cranio Sacral Therapy.

I really did not know where to start looking for such a person, but after phoning around and with the help of other people I was put onto Arthur John Rosen.

My son has been to Arthur for a few treatments and to my amazement has recovered enormously.

I understand that many conditions respond well to this therapy and I strongly encourage people to consider the wonderful advantages of getting better and healing this non-invasive way. I would like to thank Arthur Rosen for his dedication to his profession and for all the care and understanding he has given my son during his recovery”.

Newsworthy information about the therapy

Harvard Medical School’s Department of Continuing Education will be running three classes on complementary medicine in Psychiatry over the current year, which is up from one a year since the class was introduced in 2003. CranioSacral Therapy is one of the methods that will be included in these classes.

The increase is due to the public’s growing disenchantment with antidepressants. David Mischoulon, an Assistant Professor of

Psychiatry at Harvard, says doctors who have attended the class report that more patients are asking for alternative treatments – due to the side effects of antidepressants as well as a lack of response to the medication. “It is time to broaden the horizons,” he says. Healthcare is going through a major change. Natural medicine and in particular, CranioSacral Therapy, because of its gentle, non-invasive nature, and its powerful healing ability, is at the forefront of this change.

“Remember,” says Arthur, “If you don’t take care of your health today, you may not have a place to live tomorrow”.

Healthcare is going through a major change… Natural medicine and in particular, CranioSacral Therapy, because of its gentle, non-invasive nature, and its powerful healing ability, is at the forefront of this change.
